used to download the latest printing system software and printe
drivers. With the hp LaserJet 9000 series printers, hp has expande
the Remote Firmware Upgrade technology from a printer-only firmwar
upgrade to include all hp paper handling devices for the hp LJ900
printer. The LJ9000 Remote Firmware Upgrade file available from th
hp web site contains firmware for the printer and all hp pape
handling accessories used on the LJ9000 printer in one convenien
download file. If your printer is not configured with any of the h
paper handling accessories, you can still downloaded this file t

1. Go to the printer control panel.
2. Press the select button (the one with the check mark) t
enter the menus.
3. Press the up and down buttons to scroll to INFORMATION on th
control panel display.
4. Press the select button
5. Press the up and down buttons to scroll to PRIN
CONFIGURATION on the control panel display.
6. Press the select button to print the Configuration Page.
7. Look in the 'Printer Information' section of th
Configuration Page to find the Firmware Datecode.
The Firmware Datecode will look something like this: 2001041

Download into a temporary directory of your choice.
Run the file name to extract. Please note that this fil
extracts into a directory. You will have the opportunity to chang
the drive and directory.
You are now ready to perform the upgrade process. For
successful upgrade, this file(s) MUST be prepared per the 'Upgrade
instructions in the

file.
